History
Neil Stroud, known now as Grandini, that’s me (Children’s entertainer). With a lifelong passion for magic and comedy, I started my career at the tender age of 10 years old in my local community center in Plumstead, south East London. My energetic and captivating performances quickly gained popularity among children and adults alike, leading me to expand my shows to other community centres across London as I grew up.
Neil (that’s me just in case you forgot) left school and joined the holiday camps in Great Yarmouth with Warner & Haven Holidays. After a few seasons I moved over to North Wales and joined Butlins Starcoast world as a Redcoat. After nearly 5 years in North Wales Nutty Neil as I was known then moved to Hereford with his family (who moved up from London).
Now in Hereford I sort out the local Joke and Magic shop called the Funny Farm. I was hired by Jeff Birrell ( a great and funny guy, who believed in me and I will always be grateful) as a magician and I ran the joke and magic shop. I needed a new character and so was born Mr Fizz who later became “Fizztastic” Fizz. Fizz over the years performed across the UK alongside Funny Farm Entertainments. Performing in front rooms and village halls but also in corporate events in hotels and venues big and small all over the country.
Fizz joined the circus called the Papprhiann international performing alongside a troupe of international performers. When the circus moved out of the UK I was asked to join them, but declined the kind invitation, as I was in love (a story for another time maybe.
Neil (still me) aka Fizztastic Fizz went on to perform abroad in the likes of Cannes in France for the International Film Festival and later across to Spain and then to the Canary Islands performing in venues up and down the islands in family venues.
I went on to perform on TV shows like SMTV and CDUK and BBC 2’s “Circus Dreams” Documentary and also on ITV’s The Warehouse.
I moved back to Hereford and fell in love again and now with my wife and 3 lovely children enjoy my place in the world, although I have had my own up’s and downs. Moved out of Hereford to Worcester and carried on performing.
Now back in Hereford again and ready to get back to bring in smiles to Herefordshire’s faces.
I continue to perform across the UK performing my blend of magic and comedy and delighting audiences. Grandini is my tribute to my grand parents Stanley and Margaret Stroud and William and Mary Reilly (ini meaning tribute to). As his characters are based on elements of them.
I hope to meet you all soon and bring some magic to you all….. Bravo!
